Concrete Walls
The weather was perfect for Monday and we poured the concrete walls, overall this was a difficult pour with multiple drops, a 4 way corner, two flying grade beams and plenty of custom steel in the engineered walls. We will strip the forms on Wednesday; foundation coating is set for Wednesday evening. Steel beams are scheduled for pick-up on Thursday with installation for Friday. Floor joists are ready Monday but we may delay for a day to allow for preping all the steel beams.

Excavation & Concrete
Slow progress this week, some issues but all were resolved. The gravel bank towards the neighbours fence sloughed into the excavation and shifted the footings. We removed all of the footings in the lower garage area and brought in a small excavator to clear the gravel then reset the footings. On Wednesday the concrete pumper truck showed up late and didn't have enough equipment to do the job, the delay compromised the quality of concrete so we sent back an entire truckload of concrete and the pump truck. The owner of the pumper truck has taken responsibility for his error and will settle payment with the concrete company.
We expect to pour the concrete walls on Friday next week.

Excavation
The road packer was delivered about 9:00 AM on Friday and we were able to pack entire building site this makes for a very solid base for the foundation.. The elevations are looking pretty good at this point the packed area is the bottom of the footing, the top of the floor in the great room will be 2' 8" above the packed area. The garage floor will be 7 ' below the packed area so there is still lots of material to remove.
(Looks like my camera lens picked up a couple of the rain drops from the sun shower!)

Excavation
The excavation started April 18, good progress, removed the trees from the north edge of the lot and removed about 30 percent of the basement excavation material to start building up the access road. Early next week, BC Hydro will advise the cost of underground v.s. overhead service to the house. Temporary power is required for the site as soon as possible so we are pushing BC Hydro for prompt service.
